What is a bail bond?

When someone is arrested in Utah, usually he or she will be taken to a local police station for booking prior to incarceration in a county jail.  Once the person is booked, there are some options for release.  A bail bond is deposited with a bail bond agent or the court to release the arrested person released from custody.

A bail bond is submitted to the courts as a guaranteed I.O.U. for the amount set for bail.  Since our bonds are insured, the court is guaranteed full payment of the bond amount if the client does not appear as ordered.  If the obligation to the court is fulfilled, the bond is exonerated and your collateral is released.
